Light Office by Lapalma
14 november 2016
What lapalma is presenting at Orgatec in 2016 is the result of its continuous exploration of new scenarios in design, moving across the labile boundaries between home and office life.
A new way of living the work space, great technical skills and deep awareness of the specificity of this field: all this has oriented the company towards solutions and products which are very versatile, ideal to customize break-out areas and lounge spaces as well as perfect to give a completely new look to traditional desks or meeting areas.
From the home-office to the office-home, lapalma’s keyword is integration: planning is not focused on the single individual anymore, but it looks at collectivity. The focus is not on single seats but on flexible modular systems which can be integrated with the existing architecture. In fact, the office environment has been conceived for sharing, meeting, relaxing and team-working: this new reality has now found adequate space to express its dynamism.
The perfect expression of this new way of living the space is ADD, the modular seating system designed by Francesco Rota which aims at industrializing customization. It consists of a modular structure – a frame made by extruded aluminum profiles linked by aluminum joints – and, thus, offers a variety of possible combinations (linear, s-shaped, circles), so as to meet architects’ most challenging requests.
Taking inspiration from the seating system, which has been recently recognized with the Red Dot Award and the Compasso D’Oro honorable mention, new products have been created: ADD T and ADD S. The former is a table system presented at Milan Salone del Mobile 2016 while the latter is the latest development presented at Orgatec 2016, a modular system of storage units.
These new products complete the collection and increase the variety of possible combinations. They can combine with other light office products such as Kipu ottomans, Jey and YO side tables, Screen partitions and other lapalma evergreen in order to give the office a unique, coherent style.
Further news in Cologne is the UNO collection by Francesco Rota: several seats, seatbacks, upholsteries and finishing create a wide range of proposals to meet the multiple needs of the office environment -from the executive armchair to the lounge seating or the plain office chair.
In a 400-square-meter booth characterized by a surprising dark ceiling – which makes the space look deeper- and big rectangular partitions of green glass, the company shows different ways of living and interpreting the office. Next-to a traditional working area, where seating and storage units create a continuum, private islands display their desk and executive chair and adjoin meeting areas and collective spaces. These dynamic, integrated spaces clearly express the elegant, essential image of lapalma.
